So, it’s now January and in my region (California Region 4) the spots for Regional Championships still haven’t been assigned. I have been coaching since Toss Up, and this is MUCH later than usual. At my team’s last tournament (Dec 17) I asked our Event Engagement manager what was taking so long. He told me that they had extended the time for EPs to register new events, so they were waiting for that to happen to assign the spots. Well okay, that makes sense, except that the deadline had already passed by about a month at that point. Anyway, he said that the spots were ready to go and he would be entering them that week. Well, that didn’t happen. I decided to look at other regions. It seems that very few regions have spots assigned, so this is clearly not just a SoCal issue. Does anyone have any insight into what might be going on?
